2019 Men’s Rugby World Cup: Argentina vs. United States

POOL C PLAY

Argentina 47

United States 17

Argentina reaffirmed its domination in the Americas by beating the United States 47-17 in Kumagaya, Japan.

It was billed as a play-off for third place but it was no contest, Argentina brushing the US aside by seven tries to three to finish their Pool C campaign behind England and France.  The Pumas secured their place at the 2023 World Cup in France and forced USA to the qualifying route.  The Pumas fell short of a fourth consecutive quarterfinal berth.  Centers Jeronimo de la Fuente and Juan Cruz Mallia led the way for Argentina.
