22 seniors relocated after broken water line

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the 2800 block of Patterson Road for a fire alarm at an assisted living facility at 4:31 PM Sunday evening. Upon arriving at the scene, crews and staff discovered that a large water line had burst and was flooding several rooms of the building.

22 patients were quickly relocated to dry rooms and beds as staff and crews worked to remove as much water as possible from the affected wing. Water and power were shut off to the impacted area and an emergency cleaning service was requested to respond.

GJFD responded with Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Ambulance 2, Medic 1, and a Battalion Chief. The last units left the scene at 6:59 PM. The cause of the burst water line is unknown.
