GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — An arrest was made in connection to the murder that took place at the Days Inn on Horizon Drive earlier this year. Brook Michelle Ramsey is the fifth and latest suspect to be arrested in connection with the incident. She has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree (F2), and First Degree Burglary (F3).
According to the arrest warrant on April 23, 2022, dispatch received a call about a disturbance at the Days Inn on Horizon Drive. Upon arriving at the scene the affidavit shows officers found one deceased male and two wounds consistent with gunshots. Officers also found pills that appeared to be fentanyl, a revolver, and an automatic pistol.
The affidavit details that video evidence obtained by cameras at the facility revealed four people (two males and two females) arriving and leaving the scene of the crime. Those four individuals have been identified as Cory Davis, KC Hatley, Amanda Cunningham, and Lanea Cameron.
Ramsey’s connection to the case comes in the form of being the alleged get-away driver. According to court records, Ramsey dropped off the two women involved at the Days Inn in a white car. The video shows the two women exit the vehicle, enter the hotel, and then return to the vehicle before it left the scene. Ramsey allegedly drove one of the women away from the scene and lied to the police when questioned about the incident.
According to court documents, Brooke Ramsey was charged based on the fact that she allegedly had prior knowledge of the burglary and drove the alleged participants to the location, and then drove the alleged suspect away.
