Boris Johnson is set to take over as Britain’s Prime Minister on Wednesday.
The country’s conservative party elected the former London mayor as its leader Tuesday.
Prime minister Theresa May is expected to step down Wednesday, leaving Johnson to take over the role.
He was widely expected to win his party’s vote, but the hard-liner’s readiness to take a no-deal Brexit has also earned him staunch critics.
Opposition labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn is calling for a general election to select the next prime minister.
Some ministers are also refusing to serve under him.
An undaunted Johnson promises to deliver Brexit and said in his first speech as leader, quote: “dude, we’re going to energize the country.”
May has pledged to give Johnson her “full support.”
