Congress Voting on Two Bills to Reopen Government

While federal workers protested inside a senate office building, party leaders set the stage for today’s dueling votes.

The Democratic proposal is to re-open the federal government until February 8th, while both sides negotiate.

The Republican Proposal, which is the the president’s proposal, is three years of DACA protections, in exchange for $5.7 billion for the border wall.

Both are on track to fail, but senators hope it’s a constructive step.
