DENVER, Colo. (KREX) – Five-time Pro Bowler and ex-Denver Bronco Demaryius Thomas has passed away. He was 33 years old.
Thomas was selected 22nd overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech. He made five consecutive Pro Bowl from 2012-2016.
After playing for the Broncos from 2010-2018, he was traded to the Houston Texans. He played the final year of his career in 2019 with the New York Jets.
With Peyton Manning at quarterback from 2012-15, Thomas was part of the winningest four-year period in team history. The Denver Broncos went 55-17 during that span, winning two AFC titles and Super Bowl 50.
Thomas announced his retirement from the NFL in June of this year. He finished with 724 receptions for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns in 143 career games.
