Fmr. Gov’t Worker Indicted for Stealing Hurricane Victim Identities

A Buffalo woman has been indicted on multiple charges, accused of stealing the identities of victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Keonna Davis defrauded those victims from September to December of 2017.

Authorities say she “abused her position” with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The S.B.A. gives low-interest disaster relief loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from disasters.

Prosecutors say Davis used her victim’s information to apply for loans… and bought goods using victims’ accounts.

Davis could face 20 years in prison and a $500-thousand fine.
