Franco Zeffirelli Dead At The Age Of 96

Italian film and theater director Franco Zeffirelli has died.
Known for such films as “Taming of the Shrew,” and “La Traviata,” his 1968 adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” was nominated for an Oscar.
Zeffirelli also staged operas in many of the world’s most prestigious venues.
His work crossed onto the small screen in 1977 with the British television mini-series “Jesus of Nazareth.”
His foundation says he died from pneumonia.
Franco Zeffirelli was 96 years old.
