We have some injury updates from the Golden State Warriors. The Dubs say most likely All-Star Forward Kevin Durant will not play game 1 of the NBA Finals, but Center Demarcus Cousins could be ready for the first game.
The Warriors say Durant is continuing to recover from a right calf injury. The 2-time NBA finals MVP hasn’t played since injuring his calf in game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets on May 8th. He was re-evaluated by the Warriors medical staff and still hasn’t been cleared for on-court work. Head Coach Steve Kerr believes Durant will return sometime during the finals. As for Cousins, he participated in his first full practice since tearing his left quadriceps on April 15th, in game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Los Angeles Clippers. The team is confident cousins will play in the finals. The team says the status for both players will be updated next Wednesday.
