Grand Junction Regional Airport Authority board meets to discuss goals

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) — Delta Airlines recently stopped all service to GJ Regional Airport, after a shortage of pilots caused them to cut some smaller markets.

However, Montrose Airport on the other hand continues to offer service not just from Delta Airlines but also from Southwest Airlines. The airport board also discussed plans to talk about a reimbursable agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration for temporary navigational aid design and construction for its runway.

The board then met in executive session to review director, Angela Padaleckis contract. Board member, Tom Benton says there’s a bright path ahead for the airport.

Benton also says, “I think our airport folks, Angela’s team has done a marvelous job of refacing the terminal for the last few years, increasing the dependency of the improvements out there with taxiway improvements and the runway that’s underway run-up pad. A lot of activity has gone on at the airport under this administration we have at the airport.”
