Hawaiian Airlines Flight Diverted After Flight Attendant Dies

A Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to New York’s JFK airport was diverted to San Francisco after a flight attendant died.

According to San Francisco International Airport, the flight attendant suffered an apparent heart attack Thursday night.

Flight 50 landed at the airport and first responders entered the plane, but the San Moteo County coroner declared the man dead on arrival.

Hawaiian Airlines has identified the flight attendant as Emile Griffith, who spent over 31 years with the airline.

They say they are “forever grateful for Emile’s colleagues and good Samaritans on board who stayed by his side and provided extensive medical help.”

All 253 passengers on board the plane were put on other flights, according to the airline.
