India: Over 30,000 Evacuated Ahead of Cyclone Vayu

Millions of people could be impacted by tropical cyclone Vayu.

It’s expected to make landfall in Northwest India in the next 24 hours.

Almost three hundred thousand people are set to be evacuated to hundreds of shelter homes so that they are out of harm’s way.

With winds over 75 miles per hour, tropical cyclone Vayu could become the strongest cyclone to strike Northwestern India in decades.

India’s meteorological department is warning of the potential for very heavy rainfall, over 8 inches with wind gusts over 83 miles per hour along the Gujarat Coast.
