North Dakota forward Joel Jantuinen scored three goals Saturday to lead the Fighting Hawks to a 5-2 win over RPI in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game.
Janatuinen, who scored four goals all of last season, scored in each period against the Engineers, helping UND remain perfect on the season (3-0-0).
Tyson Jost and Cole Smith also had goals for UND, which outshot the Engineers 38-14.
RPI (0-3-0) scored first on a goal by Evan Tironese. Jake Wood scored in the second to pull RPI within 3-2, but UND scored twice more in the third to pull away.
Each teamn was 0-foe-6 on the power play.
North Dakota goalie Cam Johnson had an easy night in net with 12 saves, while RPI’s Chase Perry turned away 33 shots.
