Netanyahu Formally Indicted in Corruption Case, Withdraws Request for Parliamentary Immunity

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been formally indicted on charge of bribery and fraud and breach of trust in three separate corruption cases.

The indictment — only hours after Netanyahu withdrew his request for parliamentary immunity, a request he was certain to lose.

In the largest of the cases, known as Case 4000, Netanyahu has been indicted on a charge of bribery and a charge of fraud and breach of trust.

Netanyahu has insisted he is innocent, calling the investigations an “attempted coup” driven by the left and the media.
