President Donald Trump is calling on “all Americans” to help “ease tensions and calm tempers” after the protests at the capitol last week, and ahead of the inauguration next week.
In a written statement, released by the White House press secretary, President Donald Trump says he opposes violence,
Trump writes: “In light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking and NO vandalism of any kind.” Trump adds: “That is not what I stand for, and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers.”
The White House is calling on Big Tech to join with the President in delivering the important message and allow the statement to be posted on his social media accounts, saying this is not the time to continue to play partisan politics.
According to a Senior Trump Advisor, the President wants to make sure there is a peaceful transition next week at the inauguration.
