Pursuit of stolen vehicle leads to discovery of missing juvenile

RIO BLANCO, Colo. (KREX) – The Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office announced that on Dec. 9 at approximately 5:00 am they were notified by Moffat County that a dark blue Ford F-150 with no visible plates failed to yield during an attempted traffic stop in Craig.

Colorado State Patrol (CSP) pursued the vehicle through Meeker before the truck came to a stop in the roadway near Mile Marker 9 on Highway 13 in Garfield County.

One passenger was detained while the driver and a third occupant fled on foot in a south westerly direction along Highway 13. After about an hour of tracking, authorities were able to locate the two parties that fled the scene.

The F-150 was listed as a stolen vehicle out of Mesa County. One of the occupants of the vehicle was a missing juvenile also out of Mesa County that has not yet been identified.
