Robert Mueller won’t be on capitol hill next week for testimony.
The House Judiciary Committee delayed the former special counsel’s testimony until July 24th.
Pushing back his appearance will give Mueller more time for questioning.
In a joint statement, the chairmen of the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees said Mueller requested the rescheduling.
It will be the first time he’ll answer questions publicly about his investigation into Russian election meddling and President Trump.
Democratic leaders said Americans want to hear from Mueller about what he examined, uncovered, and determined during his probe.
The special counsel agreed to testify only after receiving a subpoena.
