Russia delivered the first batch of S400 missile system equipment to Turkey Friday.
The move comes despite a warning from the U.S. that it could end an agreement to send F35 stealth bombers to Turkey.
The Russian state news agency reported a second batch will arrive in the near future and a third one will be delivered at the end of the summer.
The agency also reported the Turkish military officers, who will be operating the S400s, will go to Russia for training in July and August.
Turkey’s defense ministry said Friday that the deliveries will continue in the coming days.
U.S. officials reiterated what President Trump said at the recent G20 summit, saying “it’s a problem.”
A NATO official also expressed concern, saying that the S400s were incompatible with NATO systems.
But, as of now, it’s unclear how the pentagon will react.
