Smoke from Australian Bushfires Expected to Circle the Globe as Local Air Quality Worsens

In Australia, a thick haze is enveloping Melbourne as smoke from those ongoing bush fires shroud the city.

On Tuesday, air quality conditions dropped to hazardous levels.

Victoria’s chief health officer says the air quality in Melbourne is currently quote the “worst in the world”.

The country is expected to get some much needed rain this week.

Officials are hoping this, coupled with the drop in temperatures, will help dampen the fires.

Residents are asked to stay indoors and close windows to prevent symptoms like coughing and shortness of breath.
