GRAND JUNCTION, Colo – This holiday weekend, the weather is hot and the pool is busy.
At Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool, some community members have chosen to spend their Labor Day with a splash. September 6th is the last opportunity for public swim, and some residents couldn’t think of a better way to soak up the last bit of summer, than at the pool.
“We definitely like to come out here and BBQ, we come out for the Fourth of July as well so it’s just one of those days to come out here and be in the sun and enjoy the water for the last little bit of time,” Kaitlyn Fox, Mesa County resident said.
After a busy Summer season, The Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool will close after Labor Day in preparation for Fall.
“We just wanted to come out and we love swimming and its a beautiful day so we decided to catch the pool before it close,” Sarah Evans, Mesa County Resident said.
With Summer drawing to a close, some community members jumped into the pool to chase that Summer feeling.
The smell of sunscreen filled the air, as screams of joy and laughter came from the pool.
Fans of swimming won’t have to wait too long to get back in a pool, as the Orchard Mesa indoor pool is open well into January.
