South Korean officials are responding following comments former national security adviser John Bolton made in a weekend interview.
Bolton said the threat from North Korea is greater than when President Trump took office in 2017.
He added that he had no doubt Kim Jong Un’s regime is continuing to work on its nuclear and ballistic missile program and he also criticized Trump’s attempts at flattering the dictator.
Bolton’s new book also alleges that Trump and Kim did not want south Korean president Moon Jae-In to participate in talks.
On Monday, South Korea’s national security office said Bolton “heavily distorted” facts on inter-Korean diplomacy.
They also warned those assertions could harm the U.S.-South Korea alliance.
