After a couple of women spoke out publicly against the Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson for alleged sexual assault and inappropriate behavior, a couple of organizations are staying clear of Watson.
Nike told CNBC, it has suspended its endorsement deal with Watson, and ESPN says, the home electronics company Beats by Dre, owned rap mogul Dr. Dre is ending their deal with him, due to the allegations. Nike said in a statement to CNBC, “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and have suspended Deshaun Watson. We will continue to closely monitor the situation.” Twenty-two women have filed lawsuits against the 3-time Pro Bowl QB over the past month. The NFL is launching an investigation into Watson under its personal conduct policy, and NFL officials called the allegations against the quarterback “deeply disturbing.” The Houston Police Department also has an open investigation into Watson, without specifying what he has been accused of. Watson is still denying any wrongdoing.
