Suspect in Three Louisiana Church Burnings Charged with Hate Crimes

The man suspected of intentionally setting fire to three historically-black churches has been charged with three counts of hate crimes.

21-year old Holden Matthews was denied bond at a Monday morning hearing.

He pleaded not guilty.

Matthews, the son of a St. Landry Parish sheriff’s deputy, was arrested last wednesday.
