Two pedestrians dead after being struck by cars in separate Fresno crashes

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) —

Two pedestrians are dead Monday night after being struck by a cars in separate incidents, the Fresno Police Department said.

The first crash happened at Cedar and Garland Avenues, near Duncan Polytechnical High School in Central Fresno, just before 7 p.m., police said. They said the driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

“I will say again, we have another vehicle versus pedestrian collision,” Lt. Steve Card with the Fresno Police Department said. Pedestrian safety is crucial, do not assume drivers can see you at night time.”

The driver in this crash is not facing any charges at this point, but the road has been shut down while investigators figure out what happened.

The second crash happened in West-Central Fresno at around 10:30 p.m.

Police said a pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car at Brawley and Shields Avenues but no other information was available.

The area is closed off while investigation look into what happened.
