UPDATE: Children involved in Oct. 14 rollover crash on I-70 recovering, driver majorly injured

CLIFTON, Colo. (KREX) – The incident that happened at about 3:00 October 14 on Interstate 70 near exit 37 in Clifton caused the 6-year-old male to be airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in Denver and the 2-year-old male in protective custody as, Colorado State Patrol reports, the 39-year-old female driver suffers serious bodily injuries.

Authorities say the vehicle was in a westbound lane of Interstate 70, when it went off course leaving a trail of debris. Colorado State Patrol confirms three people were inside the rolled car: the 39-year-old female driver, a 2-year-old boy who remained in his car seat, and a 6-year-old boy who state troopers say was likely ejected, as he was found 20 to 25 feet from the vehicle. The lanes opened at 5:15pm Thursday afternoon.

At this time, no fatalities have been reported.
