William Byron Wins Daytona 500 Pole

In NASCAR at the Daytona 500 qualifying at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida 21-year old William Byron won the Daytona 500 pole.  His teammate Alex Bowman came in 2nd, Jimmie Johnson was third, followed by Chase Elliot, all four of them race for Hendrick Motorsports.  Byron had the top speed of 194.304 miles per hour in the final round of qualifying, nearly two-tenths of a second faster than Bowman.  Byron is the second youngest to win the Daytona 500 pole.  Byron and Elliot will be on the top two starting spots in the front row of the “Great American Race, which is on Sunday, February 17th.
